The Bird and the Bee – Love Letter to Japan

After looking at EVERY shoe shop in Covent Garden for some size 13 trainers (and I found none) a few months ago, this song was coincidentally played in two different shops… at different times, so I Shazamed it. I’d never heard of The Bird and the Bee prior to this, but researching now they seem to be pretty popular (especially in the US rather than UK), with Love Letter to Japan displaying short of one million plays on Myspace. This track is the first single from their new album Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future

A nice blend of dance and The Cardigans-esque delicate pop-rock, Love Letter to Japan hits the spot with me. Especially the chorus, which (rare these songwriting days) is first heard at the beginning of the track. Even more rare, the track begins with the BRIDGE which connects the chorus to the repeat of the chorus (which happens every time). If this is making no sense, Inara George basically sings “ho ho ho ho” which you next hear at 1:26. It’s great.

This is great! I am an independent singer songwriter and I learn a lot from reading blogs like this – thanks so much for sharing.
